SEARCH TECHNIQUES

THIS 2 DAY COURSE WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO USE DIFFERENT SEARCH METHODS AND DEVELOP SEARCH STRATEGIES AS PART OF A SAR TEAM IN THE FIELD, EXPLORING FACTORS WHICH AFFECT THE SEARCH FOR A PERSON OR OBJECT.

Through this course you will become more aware of environmental and personal reasons that could affect your searching. We also look at Lost Person Behaviour (LPB) for various categories of people, which leads to the development of particular search strategies for different types of lost people.

As in a real search and rescue (SAR) operation, during the block course you will be working in groups practicing and refining a number of techniques for searching.

This will include specific techniques for both day and night searching, as well as for different environments.
