Search enters third day for missing Hamilton man Raymond Stirling (Day 3)
Police and SAR search continue searching for Raymond Stirling who has been missing since Monday night.
A search for a missing Hamilton man has entered its third day.
There is still no sign of Raymond Stirling, who was last seen at his Halcione Close home in Flagstaff on Monday evening.
A search was launched for the frail 84 year old who suffers from mild dementia after he was discovered missing on Tuesday morning. Both police and the great-grandfather's family are extremely concerned, Waikato police search and rescue Sergeant Phil Bell said on Thursday.

About 30 police and LandSAR volunteers have been going door-to-door searching every property within a kilometre of Stirling's home.

Stirling has been known to wave down motorists to catch a ride, so family members are also searching areas around Ngāruawāhia and Huntly, where Stirling once lived and worked.

"We are very keen to hear from anyone who may have given him a ride or been waved at by him in the last two days," Bell said in a statement.
He's also been known to approach businesses looking for work in his previous profession as a butcher.
No one saw Stirling leave his home, but he is believed to be wearing navy track pants and white sneakers with red stripes on the sides.

His black walking stick is not at the house and it's thought he has it with him.
He also has a wound on the right side of his head from a recent operation.
"We ask that residents in the Halcione Close area check their sections, inside and out, plus external buildings, such as sheds and garages.
"We are working hard to locate Raymond and even the smallest piece of information could help, so please don't hesitate to contact us.

"If anyone sees, or has seen Mr Stirling, they are asked to call 111 immediately."
People with family members with dementia can seek aids to help track them here.
