An introduction to Member Wellbeing. Would like a strong presence from the group to attend this evening.

This introduction is a prelude to the Wellbeing LandSAR event 27 Nov 2022  LandSAR registration link

Member Wellbeing Introduction Session:

LandSAR understands the importance and genuinely wants to do the right thing in looking after both the physical and mental health of its volunteers. This introductory session will give you an insight into how we are aiming to minimise the risk of volunteers experiencing mental health stress injuries due to SAR involvement and the potential exposure to traumatic events which can lead to psychological stress and injury. This short session will cover:

  • What is Wellbeing… and Wellbeing in the SAR context?
  • What is mental health & psychological stress injury?
  • What wellbeing support options are available through LandSAR?

Pizza and Member Wellbeing workshop from 7pm tomorrow (Monday the 15th August), the one meeting of the year that you do not want to miss!

Why?

  1. Plenty of Pizza!
  2. Do it in a one-night course rather than giving up a whole weekend later in the year.
  3. Be part of the inaugural group in shaping Member Wellbeing for LANDSAR and our Hamilton Group, initiatives that will save the lives of those we rescue and also those in our team in the future.

What?

LandSAR is rolling out a wellbeing programme that allows each group to customise some of the content and processes to their owns needs rather than simply a prescriptive checklist that gets thrown in the bottom draw.  This is to ensure that it becomes engrained in the processes for our Hamilton Group in the future, processes that might be as simple as ensuring there is food for volunteers at the end of each search to ensure they are feed, rested, and hydrated to make sure their drive home is safe.

Who?

The wellbeing workshop needs each and every one of us on Monday to work together and share our ideas, and there’s pizza!

Where?

Usual monthly meeting place in the St Johns Building.

When?

See you there at 7pm tomorrow!

Cheers
Brittany and Gin
