ATTENDING REFRESHER TRAINING IS KEY TO ENSURING THAT SAR SKILLS ARE KEPT UP TO DATE AND THAT BEST PRACTICE IS MAINTAINED WITH THE ULTIMATE AIM OF A CONTINUALLY IMPROVING OPERATIONAL RESPONSE.

The content of a field refresher is determined by the needs of your group or region and may integrate topics from any of the following courses or competencies:

• Search Techniques/Methods
• Tracking Core Skills/Track and Clue Awareness
• Tracking/Sign Cutting
• Processing Wilderness Clue Sites
• SAR Leadership (as it applies to Field Team Leaders)
• LandSAR Probationary Member competencies
• LandSAR Field Team Member Competencies
• LandSAR Team Leader Competencies (as they apply to Field Team Leaders)
